Rose Room
Originally composed in 1917 by Art Hickman and Harry Williams, Rose Room has become a beloved standard in the jazz repertoire. Its smooth, elegant melody and upbeat swing feel made it a favorite among dance bands of the 1930s and 40s. Notably, it was revived by Duke Ellington in a 1932 recording and later helped launch the career of guitarist Charlie Christian, whose improvisation over Rose Room caught the attention of Benny Goodman. Over the years, it has also found a place in the hearts of gypsy jazz musicians - including Stochelo Rosenberg, who brought his own brilliance to the tune.
